A Brief History of Band
Once upon a time there lived a man. His name was Jeff and he lived with his wife and children and a dog. Possibly. The dog is optional. A potential dog if you will. Maybe a Frankenstein's Monster-type dog with more stitches than a field full of out of shape runners, and four unequal length legs. Maybe it's a lurcher. But I digress...
One day Jeff was out in the woods picking berries when he encountered a magic fairy. The fairy said to Jeff,
"You must start a marching band for the people of the town."
And Jeff said,
"But who will play in this band?"
And the fairy said,
"I have the members right here.", and produced 20 children from a convenient pocket. The children began to play but Jeff stopped them declaring,
"Oh the humanity! Stop that awful racket before something dies!" and he beat them with a stout stick until they went away. He said to the fairy,
"I will start a band, but it will be made up of the local youth."
And he did. A complete-ish history of the Rhyl Scout and Guide band can be found here.
The Rhyl Scout and Guide Band is sadly no more, but like a phoenix from the ashes, the Rhyl Youth Marching Band has risen to take it's place.
