These are video recordings of the band performing in Manchester. The marching routine was Nick's 'Oh! What A Lovely War' music for the TYMBA rules competition which was on the Sunday. The whole band (bar a couple of older members) took part in this routine. Though we came 3rd of 4 bands in this competition, we did win The 'General Musical Effect' award which isn't too bad considering it was the first competition for many of the members.
The rest of the music is from the concert competition the evening before. Only 13 of our members played in this competition and we were awarded a Gold Award with Distiction. The pieces performed were: Also Sprach Zarathustra (Theme from 2001), William Tell (an extract from the famous overture), Band Of Brothers (Theme from the Mini-series), Somewhere Out There (From the film 'An American Tail'), and Funny Cellophane (an arrangement of music from the musical 'Chicago'). All music was arranged by our muscial director Nick Coope.
