What a day!!!!
No one can imagine how proud and overjoyed I was standing in the middle of you lot yesterday as the awards were being announced. I always feel priviledged when we go out as a band as the Bandmaster - I feel proud every time!!
But yesterday - WOW!!!!!!!!
You certainly did the business - it looks like I'll have to get a bigger uniform as my chest is so pushed out with pride.
Thank you all for your tremendous efforts over the past few weeks and here's to Rubery next week. Don't think we will have the same result but if we put in the same effort on the day - who knows?

Well done everyone - lets all give it are best next week and see if we can win again and wow the judges :)
It will by tougher next weekend. The way it is marked, we can't afford to come last in in any of the categories....
BUT.... what a start to the season at least we're top of the league right now :-)
We know we have fab music which appeals to everyone and shows our talents off, we also now know the routine fits the music and also has what it takes to be a winner. What's more, we know when we put our minds to it, we can show the routine off well enough for the display judge to know what is meant to be happening. We also know, if we concentrate, we can sound pretty good too and as long as we remember to play with dynamics and style, we can bag GME. Lets see if we can practise a bit more to tighten up the drill and also push to win the Wind Trophy too. I think the percussion should be praised to for all their effort. Amber you really held us all together (not an easy task when you have people like me who like to race), the Judge also seemed to like the 'kit' bits in the display, and the cymbol, so here's hoping we can work on it some more and really give them something to write about.

I would just like to say what a superb lot of people you all are for attending at Llandyrnog today.
I did not hear one complaint from anyone although you were asked to play and march continuously throughout the day. Thsnks to Jean for again for keeping us supplied with refreshments. I'm sure that all this hard work will pay off.
Everyone did work really hard.It was very warm and I'm sure I'm not the only one sporting some interesting red patterns on my skin today :-)
We've just got to keep it up for the next couple of weeks. I'm feeling so much more confident about competition 1!!!!
Like Jeff says, everyone has a part to play in learning their music, playing out and marching as best they can.

i have to agree with helena and jeff, we did do well but there are parts that we still need to practice, for example, the slow marching in chim chiminee, some day my prince will come, and of course the 'L' crossover because my side are not ever in line with helenas side and we end up not being straight. well done to everyone though for trying their hardest on staurday and sunday, i really feel that we can win the competition if we all set our minds on it and try our hardest and put our best foot forward
Three more practices and thirteen more sleeps till the first competition !!!!

Thanks to all of you for turning out on Saturday to play for the Forum for People with Learning Difficulties.
We gave a lot of people not so fortunate as ourselves a lot of pleasure and we have already been asked if we will be available to play next year. I have, of course, said we will.
Thanks to everyone who turned out last night (Thurs 21st May) tp play at the fund raising concert for the church.
Everyone thought it was a godd performance and really enjoyed it even though we did have a very mediocre performance in the first half. But, as I knew you would, you played a lot better in the second half and deserved the applause.
The church raised about £600.00 from the concert which was divided between Glan Clwyd Cancer Unit and the church funds.
Well done to you all!!
