Rhyl Youth Marching Band

  1. GUIDING CENTENARY PARADE - CONWY

My thanks yet again to you all for turning out last evening (20th Oct) for the Guiding Centenary Parade through Conwy.
Although it was difficult at times to read your music I really appreciate the effort you all put in and at last it seems we are approaching being a good parading band again.
    Well done to you all.

  2. GREAT DAY AT MANCHESTER

Didn't we have a wonderful time on the day we went to Machester!!!
Two great performances, Two wins - What a Day!
You cannot imagine what it feels like when, as Bandmaster, I walk through the other bands on the way back to the bus after the final muster. The congratulations, the great comments on the way that you all performed, all from other bandsmen who were impressed by you on the day.
I have said it before, but I am so proud to be associated with such a great bunch of people.

  3. FAREWELL ANDREW

Another sad day for the band yesterday.
Andrew - Tenor Horn - informed me that he no longer wanted to play with the band as he wants to pursue new found interests in learning the piano and drums and feels his brass playing days are no longer giving him any satisfaction.
My thanks to Andrew for the way he has conducted himself at band and the commitment he has given.
I am sure that you will all join with me in wishing him all the best for the future and assure him that we would welcome him back with open arms should he wish to rejoin.

  4. DUCK RACE - DYSERTH

Thanks to all those who turned out today (August Bank Holiday Sunday) to play for the Prestatyn & Rhyl Lions fund raiser - The Duck Races at Dyserth Waterfalls.
We had to play for a very long time during the afternoon and I was very pleased at the way you all held up and continued to play to the very end.
A Gentleman, Mr Hogg, gave us a cheque as a donation to the band because he thinks we are a good young band with a very nice sound. This is the second year running that Mr Hogg has made such a donation. Is there anyone of you who would like to write to Mr Hogg a letter of thanks for the donation. I did it last year but it might be a little more pleasing if it came from one of our young members.
Thanks again for turning out today

  5. GRONANT STREET FETE

Thanks to the 12 members who turned out today (7th Aug)to play at the Gronant Street Fete.
A somewhat unusual venue for us to play at but I know that one or two people did listen to us and I received a couple of nice thank you's.
    Thanks again
