    • I'll second that. I really thought everyoen worked hard and got on great. I can say I know the routine forwards, but if it's ok with everyone I'd rather not learn it backwards. I just need to get the music as learnt as possible.

Thankyou everyone for your hard work. Keep it up and we'll be on to a winner.

Thanks Jeff and Jean for food, organising it and looking after us all for the weekend. Nick, thank you for your time too and all the effort you put in to stand in for missing people. It's going to be great.

Can I also say, thanks Gaz for lending me your sleeping bag.... cos muppet me forgot mine. Next weekend (13th-14th June hopefully) I promise I'll remember it :-)

    • What a great wekend!
I am so proud of the way in which you all approached the very hard work you had to do and the long hours we kept you at it. No complaints!! Fantastic.
Thanks to Jean for again keeping us all fed and watered throughout the weekend. If you enjoyed the food then why not tell her so.
Helena & Gareth have put together a really, is sometimes alittle complicated show. Thank to them.
I am pleased to say that I now know it backwards. All I have to do now is learn from the beginning!:) Also thanks to Nick for producing music it's a joy to play.

  2. Band Annual General Meeting - 11th May

The band held its Annual General Meeting on Monday 11th May 2009. This is when we review the past year, hear what the officers have to say in their reports and see how well off we are financially.
A little disappointed with the turnout but it's something we seem to have come to expect. The annual awards were presented as follows:
Musical Director's award went to Michael Peterson.
The Bandmaster's Awards went jointly to Rebecca, Vickie and James Edge.
    well done all of you!

  3. Mother's Day

It's Mother's Day next Sunday (22nd March) so, as usual, there will be ***NO*** Beginners' lessons or Junior Band practice. This is so that you can all spend the day being nice to your mother, buying her flowers, and taking her out for the day! This is now reflected in the Band Dates - March PDF file in the documents section.

  4. Competitions 2009

As you know some people came from TYMBA to listen to us play and see us march on Thursday. They decided that we should be in the Championship Class (that's the class above the one we took part in last year). To me this shows how well we can play and march when we put our minds to it. It also means that to compete this year we need a longer routine and we will have to put in more practice at marching and drilling if we are to make ourselves proud. Please check the 'Diary Dates' for the dates of the competitions. We will shortly be giving out rehersal schedules which will include weekends away and some all day practices. We also need to raise lots of money to pay for coaches etc. Please see Jean (Fundraising Lady) if you have any suggestions.

    • Ok folks. Gaz and I have finished the routine and we have broken away from tradition and have introduced a new and totally original special ending. I'm saying no more, you'll just have to get there to practices to find out won't you :-)

  5. TRY

Thank you to those that helped with the TRY morning today. Thank you Jeff for your hard work which helped make it such a success. All the very talented young people that took part seemed to have a good time. Lets hope that some of them decide to join the band. We'll be very happy to welcome them I'm sure.

It would appear that it was enjoyed by the young people who came along and you never know one or two might even want to join us.
      Many thanks again.
